India’s IT Rules 2026: Reshaping Platform Responsibility In AI Era

India’s IT Rules 2026 mark a major shift in how online platforms and intermediaries operate in the AI era. The amendments to the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, were notified by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and came into effect on February 20, 2026.
