Infosys Drops, Adani Energy Gains As Seven Stocks Dominate Friday’s Market Action

The Indian stock market ended the week on a weak note, with the Sensex falling 999 points to 76,664 and the Nifty slipping 275 points to 23,897. Global uncertainties, rising crude oil prices, and disappointing IT earnings weighed heavily on investor sentiment.

Infosys Leads Declines

Infosys reported a 21% YoY rise in net profit to ₹8,501 crore and revenue growth of 13% to ₹46,402 crore. However, its FY27 revenue guidance of just 1.5–3.5% spooked investors, leading to a 7% drop in share price to ₹1,154.60. The IT sector overall fell more than 5%. 

Adani Energy Solutions Gains

Adani Energy Solutions surged 3.7% to ₹1,411.95, hitting a fresh 52-week high. The company posted a 6% YoY rise in consolidated net profit to ₹684 crore and revenue growth of 17% to ₹7,443 crore, boosting investor confidence. 

Other Movers

Indian Energy Exchange (IEX): Fell 5% after reporting modest earnings growth.

Waaree Energies: Dropped 3% following US anti-dumping duty concerns on solar imports.

Lux Industries: Declined 5.3% after announcing a proposed demerger.

Himadri Speciality Chemical: Rose 6% on strong Q4 profit growth of 29% YoY.

Websol Energy System: Gained 4% after extending its three-day rally, up nearly 27% over the week.
