Modi described yoga as the “pause button humanity needs to breathe, balance, and become whole again,” especially in a world facing rising unrest and instability. He called for “Yoga for Humanity 2.0,” where the inner peace cultivated by yoga shapes the way nations and leaders approach global challenges.

The theme this year, “Yoga for One Earth, One Health,” highlights the interconnectedness of personal well-being and planetary health, echoing India’s ethos of “Sarve Santu Niramaya” (May all be free from disease).

Andhra Pradesh hosted one of the world’s largest yoga demonstrations, with a Guinness World Record attempt and more than 2 crore people participating at over 1 lakh locations nationwide. A special event saw 25,000 tribal children perform 108 Surya Namaskars in 108 minutes at Andhra University.

Modi’s message reached the grassroots, with Gram Panchayats, Anganwadis, and Community Health Centres joining in, and Indian embassies hosting yoga events globally.

The Ministry of Ayush launched 10 signature events to engage all sections of society, from environmental initiatives to inclusive outreach for marginalized groups.
