• Of the 4,000 positions being eliminated, almost 2,400 are in Oregon, where Intel operates its largest research and manufacturing campus. The revised layoff notice, issued on July 11, revealed that the cuts are nearly five times higher than initially reported earlier in the week.

• The layoffs will impact a wide range of roles, from high-tech manufacturing technicians and module development engineers to data scientists, software engineers, and product developers. Over 1,500 jobs will be lost at the Ronler Acres site in Hillsboro alone.
