Jammu and Kashmir got over 15.3 crore tourists in the last decade, according to a parliamentary report released on March 14, 2025. The tourist flow has been boosted by religious destinations like Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine in Jammu and Amarnath Cave Shrine in Kashmir, and efforts to promote offbeat and border destinations. Jammu provided the lion's portion of the tourist influx, recording 80% more tourists than Kashmir in recent years. Kashmir, nevertheless, recorded more foreign tourists, with more than 300% increase in arrivals since 2021. The G20 Tourism Working Meeting and cultural events have also assisted J&K's global appeal. The government is going to put J&K on the world map as a top international destination by creating infrastructure, eco-tourism, and adventure and wellness centers.
