JSW Energy Secures 1,600 MW Thermal Power Plant Project in Chhattisgarh

JSW Energy Limited has received a Letter of Award (LoA) for a 1,600 MW coal-based thermal power plant in Chhattisgarh. This project, part of the KSK Mahanadi Power Company Limited, was acquired through the corporate insolvency resolution process. The plant comprises 1,800 MW (3x600 MW) of operational capacity, with 95% tied up under long and medium-term power purchase agreements. An additional 1,800 MW is under construction, including one 600 MW unit that is 40% complete. This acquisition significantly boosts JSW Energy's thermal portfolio, aligning with its strategy to expand its generation capacity. The company's total locked-in generation capacity now stands at 19.2 GW.
