Karnataka Gears Up for Record Summer Power Demand

The Karnataka government is preparing to meet an unprecedented peak power demand of 19,000 MW this summer, up from last year's 17,000 MW. Energy Minister K.J. George has assured residents that there will be no load-shedding despite the surge. To meet this challenge, the state is securing electricity from neighboring regions and prioritizing power exchanges. The government is also fast-tracking the Kusum C Feeder Solarization Project, which will install solar power units to supply electricity directly to nearby substations, enhancing the state's power infrastructure
