Kashmir's Cold Snap Judgment: Winter Makes a Comeback

Fresh snowfall has fallen on upper Kashmir, including areas along the Line of Control (LoC), while the plains were lashed by rain on March 3, 2025. Snowfall occurred in some southern regions of Kashmir, including Pahalgam, and Baramulla district received some snowfall. The rainfall has brought down temperatures across the region and brought down the rainfall deficit from over 80% to 40%. Meteorological officers now say that the weather will start improving from Tuesday, with dry conditions prevailing till March 9. This wintry weather follows after snowfall in areas like Gulmarg, Sonamarg, and the Gurez valley, which were reported in late January.
