Less Than 60% Pass on First Try: Electrical Engineering Tops List of Toughest Branches

Electrical Engineering has been the most challenging department of all because fewer than 60 out of every 100 applicants pass the course the first time through. They say this resultant high pass is attributed to the study's long maths-heavy, theory-based work coupled with tough lab coursework that even genius students go for cover. The demanding curriculum involves advanced-level topics like circuit analysis, electromagnetics, signal processing, and control systems, requiring solid analytical skills and uncompromising dedication.

 

Student forums and statistics of engineering reveal always the negative image of Electrical Engineering's poor record of failure and dropout, students switching streams or dropping out of engineering due to the study pressure. The other streams like Mechanical and Civil Engineering are demanding, but Electrical stands out with its complexity and the high ratio of students failing it in the first attempt.
