LIC Shares Under Scrutiny as Q3 Net Premium Income Dips 9%

Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) shares are in the spotlight as the insurance giant reported a 9% decline in net premium income for Q3 FY25, falling to Rs 1,06,891 crore from Rs 1,17,017 crore year-on-year. Despite this, LIC posted a 17% rise in standalone net profit to Rs 11,056 crore. The company's gross NPA margin improved to 1.64%, while its VNB margin stood at 19.4%, driven by an increased Non-Par mix. However, APE growth continues to struggle, declining 24% for Q3FY25. Emkay Global has trimmed its target price to Rs 1,100 per share while maintaining a buy rating. As of February 10, 2025, LIC shares were trading at Rs 816.1, down 1.53% on the NSE.
