Lithium Riches Discovered in Odisha: A Game Changer for India's EV Industry

Geological Survey of India (GSI) has indicated promising signs of lithium deposits in the Eastern Ghats belt of Odisha, particularly in Nayagarh district. Though findings are yet to be confirmed, GSI officials say that more exploration is required to confirm the deposits. This is important as lithium is an essential component of rechargeable batteries, which is crucial for electric vehicles and renewable energy technologies. This initiative aligns with India's broader strategy to secure critical minerals for economic growth.
