A recent study by Nimhans has found that 78% of individuals struggle with communication due to excessive device use. Conducted with 36 participants aged 18-30, the research highlights frequent breakdowns in communication linked to smartphone overuse whioch has resulted into "technoference", a phenomenon where technology disrupts interpersonal relationships, leading to communication breakdowns, increased conflicts, and altered social dynamics
Experts are urging a reevaluation of technology habits to foster better interpersonal connections. This study underscores the growing concern about the impact of digital dependency on social skills, emphasizing the need for balance in our increasingly connected lives.
