Maharashtra Suspends State Transport Buses to Karnataka After Driver Attacked

The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) suspended bus services to Karnataka for the time being after a driver was attacked near the border. A group of protesters had stoned an MSRTC bus, and the driver was injured in the attack. The Maharashtra authorities retaliated by stopping all bus operations to Karnataka with immediate effect pending further notice, impacting thousands of daily passengers. Karnataka authorities have promised enhanced security arrangements along the border and are probing the attack. The suspension has been ordered at a time when tensions have been running high between the two states due to border disputes. Passengers are requested to look for alternative transport until normalcy returns.
