Maharashtra's ₹6,486 Crore Budget Boost: Rural Development Takes Center Stage

In a significant move, the Maharashtra government tabled supplementary demands worth ₹6,486 crore on the first day of the budget session. Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar presented the additional financial requirements, with ₹3,006.28 crore allocated to rural development. Other major allocations include ₹1,688.74 crore for industry, power, and labor departments, and ₹590.28 crore for urban development. Of the total amount, ₹2,133.25 crore is earmarked for centrally sponsored schemes. This financial injection aims to bolster various sectors, with the state's annual budget for 2025-26 scheduled for presentation on March 10, promising further economic initiatives.
