Manu Bhaker Clinches BBC Indian Sportswoman of the Year 2024

Olympic shooter Manu Bhaker has been named BBC Indian Sportswoman of the Year for 2024, following a global public vote. The 22-year-old made history at the Paris 2024 Olympics by becoming the first Indian woman to win two medals at a single Olympic Games. Bhaker secured bronze in the women's 10m air pistol event and another bronze in the mixed 10m air pistol with partner Sarabjot Singh. Avani Lekhara was honored as the BBC Para-Sportswoman of the Year, while archer Sheetal Devi received the Emerging Athlete Award. The ceremony, held yesterday in Delhi, also saw cricket legend Mithali Raj receive the Lifetime Achievement Award.
