March 22: A Day of Historical Significance

March 22 marks several significant events in history. In 1739, Nader Shah invaded Delhi, leading to the plunder of the city. This day also commemorates the birth of notable figures such as Surya Sen, a revolutionary leader in India's independence movement, and Jual Oram, a prominent politician from Odisha. Additionally, March 22 is observed as World Water Day, established by the United Nations to promote global water conservation. In recent years, it was also the day when Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared a 'Janata Curfew' in India to combat the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.
