Markets Prepare for Turbulence as US Tariffs, Global Trends, and FII Activity Grab the Limelight

Equity markets are set for a bumpy week as investors keenly watch US tariff news, global economic trends, and foreign institutional investor (FII) activity. President Trump's latest tariffs on Canada, Mexico, and China, effective from March 4, have increased fears of global trade tensions. FIIs have taken out Rs 34,574 crore from Indian equities during February alone, adding to an overall outflow of Rs 1.12 lakh crore during 2025 till date. The huge selling has led the BSE Sensex to drop more than 6% on a year-to-date basis. Market conditions are likely to be weak in the near term, with chances of recovery expected when earnings pick up and global trade uncertainties ease off.
