MCC Unveils Bold Two-Tier Test System Proposal to Revolutionize International Cricket Landscape

The MCC has been keen on putting a two-tier Test system in place for consideration by the International Cricket Council. It looks forward to promoting greater competitiveness in Test cricket. It places nations into tiers: the upper nine ranked teams are in Tier 1 while lower-ranked teams with some Associate Members in Tier 2. The justification of this form is that besides quality matches it can offer regular fixtures where stronger opponents will help to improve tier teams. The proposal will be taken up by an MCC meeting soon, with full support from cricketing legends like Michael Holding and Ravi Shastri.
