Mercedes Leads In Real-World Battery Endurance Across Hybrid Fleet  
In a landmark study released this month, Germany’s ADAC motoring association and Austrian battery analytics firm AVILOO evaluated over 28,500 plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) to determine long-term battery health. The results placed Mercedes-Benz at the top, showcasing superior battery durability compared to other premium and mainstream brands.

The research spanned six years and used state-of-health (SoH) metrics to assess how high-voltage batteries aged under real-world driving conditions. While most brands showed acceptable degradation levels, Mercedes-Benz consistently demonstrated minimal battery wear, reinforcing its reputation for engineering excellence in the EV space.
