MHADA Introduces Online System for Lease Deeds and Conveyance

The Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) is set to introduce an online system for managing lease deeds and conveyances through its Mumbai Board. This initiative is part of Maharashtra’s 100-day action plan and aims to improve transparency, minimize manual processes, and make things easier for citizens. Housing societies will be able to submit self-declaration forms through the platform, which will speed up processing times.  MHADA CEO Sanjeev Jaiswal highlighted the significance of this system in accelerating the redevelopment of aging housing colonies. A Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) along with a detailed document checklist will help standardize submissions. Furthermore, MHADA intends to conduct a thorough survey of its housing stock to enhance property management and tackle encroachment issues.  This shift towards digital solutions is in line with broader government efforts to modernize public services and boost citizen satisfaction.
