Modi Govt Secures Historic BrahMos Missile Deal with Indonesia

In a landmark achievement under the Modi government, Indonesia is to buy the indigenously developed BrahMos supersonic cruise missiles, showcasing India's growing defense export prowess. The deal, valued at approximately $450 million, will enhance Indonesia's coastal defense capabilities. The talks have moved on considerably and are likely to be wrapped up when Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto visits New Delhi for the Republic Day celebrations on January 26, 2025. This marks the Modi government's commitment to enhancing India's defense relations across the world, making Indonesia the second Southeast Asian country to be given the BrahMos system after the Philippines.
