Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Scripts History, Crosses $10 Billion Annual Profit Milestone

Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) has scripted corporate history by crossing the $10 billion annual profit milestone in FY26. This achievement underscores the strength of its consumer-facing businesses and strategic diversification beyond oil-to-chemicals.

Financial Performance

RIL reported a net profit of ₹95,610 crore ($10.15 billion), marking an 18% year-on-year increase. Consolidated revenue rose nearly 10% to ₹11.75 lakh crore ($124 billion). EBITDA stood at ₹2.07 lakh crore ($21.9 billion), up 13.4% year-on-year. 

Growth Drivers

Jio Platforms: Added 36 million subscribers, crossing 524 million users. Profit exceeded ₹30,000 crore, with margins above 52%.

Reliance Retail: Expanded to over 20,000 stores, contributing nearly ₹14,000 crore in profit. JioMart orders surged 300% year-on-year.

Oil-to-Chemicals (O2C): Faced margin pressure due to volatile crude prices, but diversification cushioned the impact. 

Strategic Outlook

Mukesh Ambani highlighted progress in new energy giga-factories, positioning Reliance as a future leader in clean energy. The company continues to invest heavily, with capital expenditure reaching ₹1.44 lakh crore ($15.2 billion) in FY26. 

Market Position

Reliance remains India’s most valuable listed company with a market capitalization of $191 billion, ahead of HDFC Bank ($128 billion) and Bharti Airtel ($117 billion).
