NASA Swaps Capsules for Earlier Return of Stranded Astronauts

NASA has announced a plan to hasten the return of astronauts Barry "Butch" Wilmore and Sunita Williams, stranded on the ISS since June 2024 due to issues with Boeing's Starliner spacecraft. The astronauts will now return aboard a SpaceX Crew Dragon capsule as part of the Crew-9 mission in February 2025. This decision ensures safety while allowing the uncrewed Starliner to undergo further testing. The move highlights ongoing challenges for Boeing's space program, which has faced delays and technical setbacks, contrasting with SpaceX's reliability in NASA's Commercial Crew Program.
