Network Planning Group Reviews 5 Major Infrastructure Projects Under PM Gati Shakti

The 87th meeting of the Network Planning Group (NPG) took place on February 12, 2025, where five major infrastructure projects were assessed. These projects include the expansion of Maharishi Valmiki International Airport in Ayodhya, the Delhi-Panipat-Karnal Namo Bharat RRTS Corridor, Pune Metro Line 4, and two highway projects located in Telangana and Tripura. The primary goal of these initiatives is to improve multimodal connectivity, shorten travel times, and promote regional development. The expansion of the Ayodhya airport is expected to raise its passenger capacity from 1 million to 6 million annually by 2046-47. The RRTS corridor will reduce the travel time between Delhi and Karnal to just 90 minutes, while the new metro line in Pune will enhance urban transportation. These projects are in line with the objectives of PM Gati Shakti, which focuses on integrated infrastructure and greater logistics efficiency.
