10 Lakh Youth, 10 Lakh Farmers, One Giant Leap: UP’s Twin Projects Set to Transform the State

In a landmark event, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and World Bank President Ajay Banga jointly launched two transformative projects-‘UP-AGRIS’ and ‘AI Pragya’-aimed at revolutionizing agriculture and boosting youth employability across the state.
 
UP-AGRIS Project:
  • Backed by a ₹4,000-crore investment, with ₹2,737 crore from the World Bank at a low 1.23% interest over 35 years.
  • Targets 10 lakh farmers in 28 districts of Purvanchal and Bundelkhand, integrating cutting-edge technology to modernize farming.
  • Focuses on empowering women, with 30% of benefits reserved for them and 10,000 women producer groups involved.
  • Includes exposure visits for 500 farmers abroad to learn global best practices.
  • Direct support for farmer organizations, fishers, and agri-MSMEs, aiming to reduce regional disparities and uplift rural communities.
AI Pragya Initiative:
  • Aims to train 10 lakh youth in artificial intelligence, machine learning, data analytics, and cybersecurity.
  • Designed to position Uttar Pradesh as a hub for digital innovation and create a robust tech-driven employment ecosystem.
  • Supported by collaborations with global tech giants like Microsoft, Intel, HCL, Amazon, and Google.
  • Will enhance efficiency across sectors such as education, health, agriculture, and governance, paving the way for a thriving startup ecosystem.
Additional Announcements:
CM Adityanath also announced a forthcoming ‘CM Nutrition Mission’ for children aged six months to six years, with voluntary organizations’ involvement and a study visit to Indonesia for implementation strategies.
 
These initiatives are part of Uttar Pradesh’s vision to become a one-trillion-dollar economy and a global growth engine, with World Bank’s consistent partnership recognized as a key driver in the state’s remarkable transformation.
