Bharti Airtel and Nokia have extended their partnership to strengthen Airtel's core network functions, with a view to enabling quicker service delivery for its increasing 4G and 5G customer base. Nokia will use its Packet Core appliance-based solutions and Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) technologies to make the network more reliable and efficient. The alliance is designed to streamline Airtel's network architecture, lowering operational expenses while improving its capacity to roll out new services at speed.
In addition, Airtel has granted Nokia and Qualcomm a contract to scale 5G FWA and Wi-Fi solutions, bringing high-speed internet connectivity to communities with limited fibre connectivity. Nokia FastMile 5G outdoor receivers will be employed to support multiple homes, lowering connection expenses.
