Tom Cruise has once again set the box office ablaze with the release of Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, which delivered a stellar opening in India. The much-anticipated spy-action blockbuster, released six days ahead of its global debut, raked in an impressive ₹17.5 crore net on its first day across all languages, according to early estimates. This makes it not only the biggest Hollywood opener of 2025 in India but also the highest Day 1 collection for the entire Mission: Impossible franchise in the country.
The film, directed by Christopher McQuarrie, saw robust audience turnout, with the English version recording an overall occupancy rate of 75.61% on Saturday. Major cities like Chennai and Hyderabad reported especially strong attendance, while the film also performed well in dubbed versions across other regions. The opening day numbers surpassed those of previous franchise entries, including Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One (₹12.25 crore) and outperformed recent Hollywood and Bollywood releases, such as Marvel’s Thunderbolts and Akshay Kumar’s Kesari 2.
Industry analysts credit the massive opening to Tom Cruise’s enduring popularity, high-octane action sequences, and the franchise’s loyal fan base. With positive word-of-mouth and strong advance bookings, the film is poised for a blockbuster weekend, setting the stage for further box office milestones.
Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning has not only reaffirmed Tom Cruise’s star power but also underscored Indian audiences’ appetite for thrilling, globe-trotting espionage adventures.
