The Indian Institute of Information Technology Dharwad (IIIT-Dharwad) is set to host its 7th annual convocation on July 4, 2025, at its permanent campus in Tadasinakoppa. The ceremony will celebrate the academic achievements of 258 students, including 132 in Computer Science and Engineering, 70 in Data Science and AI, 55 in Electronics and Communication Engineering, and 1 PhD scholar.
Dr. N Kalaiselvi, Director General of CSIR and Secretary of DSIR, will deliver the convocation address and present medals and certificates. Dr. Shridhar Vembu, Chairman of the Board of Governors, will preside over the event. Notable awards include the
President of India Gold Medal to Amrit Anand and the Best Outgoing Girl Student Award to Enduri Jahnavi.
Over 160 students have secured placements in top-tier companies, with the highest CTC reaching ₹71.94 lakh per annum, while 40 students have opted for higher studies in prestigious institutions globally.
The institute is also undergoing a major infrastructure upgrade, including a 1,000-bed hostel, new academic blocks, and a stadium. Research initiatives are expanding, with projects in Agritech, Healthtech, Deeptech, and Indic Knowledge Systems, supported by the Ministry of Education.
IIIT-Dharwad continues to grow, with student strength rising from 1,250 to 1,450 this year, and projected to reach 2,000 by 2027, reinforcing its role as a rising star in India’s tech education landscape.
