Smartphone shipments worldwide will grow 2.3% during the year 2025 to 1.26 billion units. Growth is anticipated to come from Android phones, especially in China and the U.S. Even with fresh 10% tariffs on Chinese imports, including smartphones, the U.S. market will grow 3.3%. Android's year-over-year growth is projected to be 40% higher than iOS, with a 2.5% year-on-year increase. Android's rise is also partly due to China's new subsidies program, which will hit Android more than Apple. Apple is set to control a 45% value share of the world's smartphone market in 2025 even though it covers only 19% of shipments.
