Union Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw today visited India's first Hyperloop test track at IIT Madras. The 410-meter test track is equipped with cutting-edge technology that is set to revolutionize transport. Vaishnaw made it amply clear that the Hyperloop pods would travel in a vacuum tube through magnetic levitation, which would allow for over 1,200 kmph speed. The test project is encouraging. Vaishnaw said the electronics of the Avishkar Hyperloop would be made by Chennai's Integrated Coach Factory. The technology is set to make 30-minute travel between Delhi and Jaipur possible. The government is willing to invest more, and a 4,050-kilometer commercial project is suggested once the testing is done. This makes India a leader in next-generation transport technology on the world map.
