Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy underscored the significance of education to determine the future of the nation, stating, "The future of the country lies in the classrooms," at the awards ceremony of Gurukula in Hyderabad today. The Chief Minister spoke to students and youth and urged them to be successful in every walk of life and pointed out the government's initiative to empower backward sections through education.
Revanth Reddy criticized the former BRS government for ignoring educational opportunities for weaker sections in favor of welfare schemes without eliminating the root cause of unemployment. He mentioned that his government has recruited 59,000 government jobs in one year, held Group 1 exams, and declared results, establishing a new benchmark in the state in the creation of employment.
The Chief Minister declared the opening of Young India Integrated Residential Schools with the aim of building confidence among Dalits, tribals, and other backward groups so that they can compete in the global market. He asked students to stay focused on their studies until the age of 25 and avoid distractions that may spoil their future.
While referring to recent appointments such as the first Dalit Vice Chancellor of Osmania University, Revanth Reddy asserted merit and academic credentials were being given precedence over caste. He concluded by emphasizing the government's devotion to the educational heritage of the likes of Jawaharlal Nehru and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.
