Blinkit, the quick-commerce arm of Eternal and Zomato subsidiary, has bolstered its pioneering 10-minute ambulance service in Gurugram, growing its fleet from an initial five to 12 fully equipped vehicles. This initiative marks a new benchmark in rapid-access emergency healthcare, aiming to redefine how critical medical services reach urban populations.

Key Highlights: Fast, Equipped, and Compassion-Driven Response
  • Blinkit’s ambulances are staffed with a trained paramedic, an assistant, and a driver, offering Basic Life Support (BLS) and carrying life-saving equipment including oxygen cylinders, AEDs, stretchers, and essential emergency medicines.
  • With operations now covering about half of Gurugram, the 12 ambulances are distributed across six depots and can reach patients within 10 minutes in approximately 83% of cases.
  • Since launch in January 2025, the service has responded to 594 dispatches, of which 225 were major emergencies, 294 were scheduled transfers, and 75 involved road accidents and injuries.
  • The company has launched an in-house training programme for paramedics to ensure high standards of care and empathy—an acknowledged challenge in scaling this service.
  • Blinkit’s CEO Albinder Dhindsa and Deepinder Goyal, CEO of Eternal, emphasize that profit is not the goal; the focus is on accessibility, affordability (Rs 2,000 per booking), and solving real urban health crises.
Strategic Vision and Future Roadmap
  • Blinkit plans to expand this emergency service to all major Indian cities within the next two years, driven by the vision to make quick, reliable ambulance care as accessible as its core commerce offerings.
  • The service is being scaled cautiously to maintain quality and compliance, serving as a blueprint for public-private innovation in Indian healthcare logistics.
  •
Blinkit’s rapid-response ambulance initiative is an impactful move to strengthen urban health infrastructure, blending technology, logistics, and human care for real-time impact during emergencies.
