JSW Energy Ltd is making significant strides towards its ambitious goal of achieving 30 gigawatts (GW) of power generation capacity and 40 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of energy storage capacity by fiscal year 2030. In line with this vision, the company recently commissioned 85 MW of renewable energy capacity, further strengthening its clean energy portfolio.
Currently, JSW Energy’s locked-in generation capacity stands at over 30 GW, including operational, under-construction, acquisition, and pipeline projects. The renewable component constitutes 57% of the portfolio with wind, solar, and hydro resources contributing significantly.
The company’s energy storage capacity, crucial for grid stability and renewable integration, comprises hydro pumped storage and battery storage systems, totaling nearly 30 GWh. A capital expenditure of up to ₹1.3 lakh crore is planned between FY26 and FY30 to meet these targets.
JSW Energy’s strategic growth roadmap, termed Strategy 3.0, focuses on powering India’s energy security with scale, speed, and sustainability, aiming to support India’s low-carbon transition and achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.
