Coca-Cola Pops the Cap on Sustainability with $136 Million Tay Ninh Mega-Plant

Coca-Cola Beverages Vietnam officially opened its largest and most advanced factory in Tay Ninh province, a milestone across 31 years of operations in Vietnam. The $136 million flagship factory, opened on July 11, is a testament to the company's commitment to be long-term focused, sustainable, and innovative in Southeast Asia.

Facility Features

Spanning 19 hectares of Phu An Thanh Industrial Park, the factory has space for five world-class bottling lines with a combined capacity of one billion liters a year.

It is the nation's first food and beverage facility to earn LEED Gold certification, proving Coca-Cola's commitment to sustainability.

Sustainability and Technology

The building features a 6MW rooftop solar array and 10-ton biomass boiler to reduce fossil fuel consumption.

A water recycling plant recovers 89 percent of treated water, up to production quality, and reduces freshwater usage.

Smart factory features such as AI-based safety monitoring and digital twin warehouse simulations.

Strategic and Diplomatic Implications

Deputy Finance Minister Nguyen Duc Tam called the project evidence of the international integration and confidence of investors in the country.

Tay Ninh authorities highlighted the province's open and hospitable investment environment, greeting Coca-Cola's contribution to the province's development improvement.

Community and Environmental Engagement

Coca-Cola continues its partnerships with WWF and UNDP, promoting recycling of plastic waste and water conservation.

The firm also organizes local supply chain ecosystems and community development within education and livelihood initiatives.
