The Ministry of Defence has signed contracts worth ₹1,917 crore to enhance India's military capabilities. A ₹1,220 crore deal with Bharat Electronics Limited will provide 149 Software Defined Radios for the Coast Guard, improving maritime security operations. Additionally, ₹697 crore contracts with ACE Ltd and JCB India Ltd will supply 1,868 Rough Terrain Fork Lift Trucks to the Army, Air Force, and Navy. These acquisitions, under the 'Buy (Indian)' category, aim to strengthen domestic defence manufacturing and operational effectiveness. The deals are expected to generate employment and support MSMEs in component manufacturing, aligning with the 'Aatmanirbhar Bharat' initiative.
