In a first for edtech, twin brothers Sahaj and Sujas Sinha aged 11 from Bangalore created PythonKid.com, the globe's first coding platform created, built, and explained by kids for kids. PythonKid.com, aimed at the 8-13 age range, will shake up the way young students learn programming, teaching coding made accessible, understandable, and enjoyable for the digital creators of tomorrow.
Key Highlights
Kid-Designed, Kid-Controlled: Sahaj and Sujas, who themselves had struggled with difficult coding books in Grade 4, worked for months in the evenings and weekends designing, coding, and creating the platform—supported by parents and mentors.
Interactive Content: The website contains:
-
Child-narrated video lessons by the twins themselves
-
Short, descriptive statements about Python basics (print, input, loops, conditionals, functions, Turtle graphics)
-
Live coding sandbox and interactive coding classes
-
Engaging mini-tasks and games such as the Silly Sentence Maker, Guess the Number, and Turtle Art challenges.
Shared Mission: PythonKid.com has a hybrid access model:
-
Affordable home-based self-study subscription plans
-
Free access for schools and NGOs to reach out to poor children to achieve UN SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities).
Scalable Vision: Over 50 courses are being developed for the future, ranging from advanced game and animation courses to creative problem-solving and basics of simple applications—all for building logic, creativity, and self-esteem in children across the globe.
National Spirit: The twins, who have spent their entire lives throughout India and are now students in Delhi Public School, Bangalore East, have already authored books and won academic Olympiad medals. Their motto: "Every child should get a chance to code, no matter where they live or what school they go to. That's our motto—to make every child Python-ready."
Call to Action: PythonKid invites teachers in schools, schools, social enterprises, and sponsors to join their mission and contribute to spreading the movement in India and other countries.
"We created PythonKid.com because we believed that we could educate other children in Python in a straightforward and enjoyable way. Children learn faster from children. That is the reason we created PythonKid, as a way to share what we have learned and as we continue to learn," Sahaj and Sujas Sinha explain.
