Double Victory on the Turf: Savita & Harmanpreet Clinch Hockey India’s Top Honours

In majestically organized 100-year celebrations of Indian hockey, Harmanpreet Singh and Savita Punia received the Hockey India Balbir Singh Senior Player of the Year awards for men and women respectively. Harmanpreet led India to a 2024 Paris Olympics bronze medal, while Savita was a major contributor to team performance at the Tokyo Olympics. This is Savita's third attempt at winning the highly respected award, and she was also given the Baljit Singh Goalkeeper of the Year award for 2024.

The ceremony also bestowed the Major Dhyan Chand Lifetime Achievement Award on the 1975 Men's World Cup championship-winning team. Other notable winners include Abhishek as the Forward of the Year and Hardik Singh as the Midfielder of the Year.
