Eden Calling? Ganguly’s Hint Fans Flames for a Grand Kolkata Finale

Sourav Ganguly has fueled excitement among Kolkata cricket fans by expressing strong optimism that the IPL 2025 final could still be held at Eden Gardens. Despite uncertainty and protests over a possible venue shift, Ganguly emphasized the “excellent relationship” between the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) and the BCCI, stating, “We’re trying-talking to the BCCI… I’m very hopeful”.

 

Eden Gardens, originally awarded the final for June 3 following KKR’s 2024 title win, was left out of the initial playoff venue list after the tournament’s rescheduling. While weather concerns and security issues have prompted speculation about a move to Ahmedabad, Ganguly downplayed the challenges, saying, “Is it that easy to shift the final? It’s Eden’s playoffs, and I’m sure everything will be sorted”. The BCCI will probably make a final decision closer to the match date.
