Greenzo Energy India Ltd. has secured a historic ₹320 crore order from Oswal Energies Ltd. to supply indigenously produced electrolysers and Balance of Plant (BoP) equipment for a 20 MW green hydrogen plant, which is a giant leap towards India's transition to clean energy.
In this contract, Greenzo Energy will manufacture and supply its cutting-edge electrolysers and BoP systems and Oswal Energies will supply engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services for the project. The plant will be installed on a Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) basis, which will enable rapid deployment as well as knowledge transfer for future projects.
Greenzo Energy Managing Director Sandeep Agarwal highlighted the partnership as a step toward India's net-zero vision, cost-effective, efficient, and scalable green hydrogen infrastructure. Oswal Energies, with its extensive EPC background in oil, gas, and clean energy, brings significant execution capabilities to the partnership.
This follows on the heels of Greenzo's recent successes, which include a large green hydrogen project in Tamil Nadu, where it is setting up a hydrogen plant at the Ennore SEZ Supercritical Thermal Power Plant, and a 2.5 MW green hydrogen project for a Karnataka-based steel manufacturer. Greenzo's electrolysers, jointly developed with the technical expertise of IIT Delhi, are extremely efficient—requiring only 42 kWh per kilogram of hydrogen, much lower than traditional systems, and lowering the cost of hydrogen production to ₹270-280 per kg.
Greenzo is also commissioning a 250 MW electrolyser manufacturing facility in Gujarat by December 2024, positioning itself as a key player in India’s push for indigenous, affordable green hydrogen solutions.
