On November 15, 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi presided over a national-level celebration of Janjatiya Gaurav Divas in Dediapada, Narmada district. This event honored the legacy of Bhagwan Birsa Munda and emphasized the government’s commitment to uplifting tribal communities. Mr. Modi inaugurated and laid foundation stones for a series of critical initiatives totaling over Rs 9,700 crore. These projects cover infrastructure development, health, education, and heritage preservation, aiming to improve living standards in rural and remote tribal areas.
Key highlights include the Grih Pravesh of one lakh houses built under the Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan (PM-JANMAN) and Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DA-JAGUA). Additionally, Mr. Modi inaugurated 42 Eklavya Model Residential Schools dedicated to tribal students and 228 multipurpose centers serving as community hubs. Foundation stones were laid for 748 km of new roads and 14 Tribal Multi-Marketing Centres to boost connectivity and tribal commerce. The PM also offered prayers at the revered Devmogra Temple.
Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and tribal artists from multiple states joined the celebrations and highlighted the importance of preserving tribal culture and boosting economic development. The program was broadcast live across tribal districts to maximize outreach.
