Festive Care Alert: Health Department Rolls Out Women & Family Wellness Camps

As the festive season approaches, the health department is launching a comprehensive campaign to organize special health camps for women and families, aiming to provide essential healthcare services at accessible locations. This initiative aligns with the national Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyan, launched by the Government of India, which focuses on enhancing women's health and family well-being across the country. Running from September 17 to October 7, culminating on Gandhi Jayanti, the campaign will be implemented near major Durga Puja pandals, district hospitals, and other centralized locations to ensure wide outreach.

The primary goal is to reach the maximum number of women and families during the festive period by providing easy access to comprehensive healthcare services.
The campaign will conduct specialized health check-ups for women covering critical health issues such as breast cancer, cervical cancer, diabetes, tuberculosis, and anemia.
Services will also include specialist consultations in gynecology, ophthalmology, ENT, mental health, and dental care, addressing a broad spectrum of health concerns.
Maternal and child health care is a crucial focus, featuring antenatal care (ANC) check-ups, vaccinations, and nutritional counseling to support healthy pregnancies and child development.
Targeted attention will be given to sickle cell patients and tribal communities to ensure inclusive health coverage across vulnerable groups.

This nationwide effort will utilize a network of Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, Community Health Centres (CHCs), Primary Health Centres (PHCs), and private hospitals across all districts, ensuring effective service delivery and participation.

A mega blood donation drive aiming to collect 100,000 units of blood to bolster healthcare resources.

The Niksay Mitra enrollment campaign to raise awareness and promote community participation geared towards achieving a TB-free India.

A preparatory video conference review involving central and state health officials emphasized the campaign’s inclusive approach to community health. The Additional Chief Secretary of Health, Ajay Kumar Singh, highlighted the government’s vision to empower women, strengthen families, and foster community well-being through accessible grassroots health services during this festive season.
