What's Taking Off: In a historic announcement made at the Paris Air Show 2025, Indian engineering behemoth AXISCADES Technologies joined forces with Spanish defense and aerospace giant Indra in a strategic alliance. The alliance will witness the co-production of state-of-the-art aerospace and defense systems in India, the most significant step ever towards the indigenization and integration of India into global defense.

Strategic Highlights:

AXISCADES will locally produce important Indra systems including:

TACAN Antennas for Tactical Air Navigation Systems

Aircraft navigation Distance Measuring Equipment (DME)

New-generation countermeasure systems for aircraft protection against missile threats like MANPADS

The solutions would be developed by AXISCADES' internal design, development, and supply chain capability

The agreement was signed in the presence of top brass from both organizations at Le Bourget

Shared Vision

The collaboration extends beyond manufacturing—both organizations are co-developing new technologies specifically tailored to Indian and overseas markets

Areas of joint development may include Maritime Patrol Aircraft (MPA) products and contributing to India's DRDO CABS MRMR and MMMA programs

Indra aims to expand its role in India, where it already participates in civil aviation modernization and defense systems

Why It Matters: The partnership is a strategic achievement for India's Make-in-India defense program. It not only adds value to local manufacturing but also puts AXISCADES at the center of power in the global aerospace supply base. To Indra, it's an entry to grow production and innovation via a credible Indian partner.
