India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a fresh update declaring the onset of the southwest monsoon in major northern and eastern regions of India. The new bulletin claims Delhi, Gurgaon, Noida, and Chandigarh will receive monsoon showers by June 24, ending the region's suffering from the summer heat. Bihar, West Bengal, and Jharkhand, however, will experience heavy rain activity within the next few days.
1. Monsoon Marching Over North India

Monsoon has already covered most of Himachal Pradesh, the entire Ladakh and Kashmir, and parts of Punjab and Jammu.

IMD reports that conditions are favorable for further advance into Delhi, Haryana, Chandigarh, western UP, and Rajasthan in the next 48 hours.

Yellow alert for Delhi has been issued with light to moderate rain and windy conditions likely until June 24.
2. Rainfall Prediction for Eastern States

Bihar, West Bengal, and Jharkhand are expected to experience heavy to very heavy rainfall from June 22 to 25, with Bihar expected to witness heavy showers on June 23.

Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim can expect very heavy rain on June 22 and 23, while Odisha is predicted to get soaked on June 25 and 26.
3. General Weather Outlook

Heavy rain is predicted in Gujarat on June 22 and Madhya Pradesh on June 23–24.

The Northeast still awaits heavy to very heavy rain during the next three days, followed by scattered heavy showers.

The IMD suggested that citizens in affected districts exercise caution and follow local guidance.
