New York City's legendary Lincoln Center will be transformed into a dazzling festival of India this September, as Nita Ambani transforms Manhattan's center with a three-day cultural extravaganza. From September 12 to 14, the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC) Weekend will bring the rich fabric of Indian arts—via music, dance, fashion, theatre, cuisine, and crafts—onto a global platform.
The festivities begin with the "Grand Swagat," a unique gala consisting of a Manish Malhotra fashion show showcasing Indian handlooms alongside a fine dining experience by Michelin-starred chef Vikas Khanna. The weekend will also feature performances by eminent artists Shankar Mahadevan, Shreya Ghoshal, and Rishab Sharma, and the much-awarded stage show "The Great Indian Musical: Civilization to Nation." The public activities at Damrosch Park include yoga classes, Bollywood dance lessons, cricket panel discussions, and a Swadesh pop-up bazaar featuring live demonstrations by Indian artisans.
Ambani, inspired by her own journey in the arts, said, “We want to place Indian arts at the heart of the global cultural conversation… I’m excited to bring a slice of India and its 5,000 years of storytelling to New York.”
