In a touching show of Bollywood brotherhood, Shah Rukh Khan paid an impromptu visit to the sets of Aamir Khan's highly anticipated film Sitaare Zameen Par, days ahead of its release in theaters. The visit, shot in a special behind-the-scenes clip, has gone viral, making fans and professionals in the industry happy.
Key Highlights
Aamir's Repeated Invites: Shah Rukh Khan revealed that Aamir Khan had asked him "at least 10 times" on the set to meet the cast and crew, especially the new actors. SRK revealed, "Whenever I am meeting him, every time I meet him, he is also calling me, saying, 'Please come. Please come.' Even 3 days ago, he said to me, 'Shah, tu ana yaar (Come no, please)!'".
SRK's Iconic Appearance: On set, Shah Rukh interacted with all ten newcomers, who are predominantly specially-abled. He listened to their SRK movie memories, performed his trademark arms-stretched pose, and took group pictures, making it a memorable shoot for the cast.
Special Screening Turns into Starry Soiree: Salman Khan, Rekha, Juhi Chawla, Vicky Kaushal, and a host of other Bollywood's biggest stars accompanied Aamir and SRK at the Mumbai premiere. Salman was on the red carpet with Aamir, while SRK's selfies and hugs with the young cast took over social media.
Movie Details: Sitaare Zameen Par, directed by RS Prasanna, is a spiritual sequel to Aamir's 2007 hit Taare Zameen Par. The film is a Spanish blockbuster remake Campeones, and Aamir is seen portraying the character of a basketball coach training a specially-abled team of players. Genelia D'Souza is his co-star, and Aamir's 90-year-old mother Zeenat Hussain makes her acting debut.
Aamir's Big-Screen Promise: Aamir turned down an OTT bid of ₹120 crore, insisting on a theatrical release to bring back the cinema experience. Advance bookings already surpassed ₹5.76 crore, and trade sources are predicting a robust opening weekend.
Why this matters
Shah Rukh's participation and the star premiere have raised Sitaare Zameen Par's buzz to such a level that it is now one of the most eagerly awaited releases. The multistarrer cast of the film, robust premise, and the first-ever public exhibition of bonhomie among the largest of Bollywood stars have paved the way to a memorable box office journey.
