Key Highlights
Anupam Kher's directorial venture, Tanvi The Great, is ready to create history as President Droupadi Murmu will get a special screening at the Rashtrapati Bhavan Cultural Centre, Delhi. The special screening, which is to be organized just a few days before the film's worldwide theatrical release on July 18, 2025, is a landmark achievement for the film's cast and crew.
A Movie with Purpose and Prestige
Tanvi The Great is the story of Tanvi Raina, a young girl with autism, who wishes to follow in the footsteps of her late father in the Indian Army. Anu Menon directs the film, with debut actress Shubhangi in the lead role, as the film explores the themes of perseverance, integration, and patriotism.
The film has already gained worldwide acclaim with standing ovations at the top festivals in Cannes, New York, Houston, and London and special previews at the National Defence Academy and Southern Command, Pune.
A Presidential Honour
Anupam Kher, also starring in and co-producing the film, was deeply appreciative of the President's acceptance of his invitation. He called President Murmu a trailblazer and a symbol of leadership and said her presence at the screening was particularly significant considering the nature of the film, which deals with the Indian Army and differently-abled people.
The screening will be graced by the film's lead cast including Shubhangi, Karan Tacker, Boman Irani, and writers Ankur and Abhishek, apart from the army's top brass.
Industry and Social Impact
The episode also touches on the theme of empowerment and inclusivity in the film, and the importance of representation for the military and autism in Indian cinema. Produced by Anupam Kher Studios in collaboration with NFDC, Tanvi The Great features a stellar cast of Jackie Shroff, Arvind Swami, Nasser, and British actor Iain Glen.
With the special screening by the President, Tanvi The Great hits the national spotlight, ready to inspire the audience across India and globally.
