The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has announced plans to expand Hindon Airport in Ghaziabad as it nears saturation, handling 600 daily passengers against its capacity of 700–800. The expansion aims to double terminal capacity, improve infrastructure, and add new routes, including Bhubaneswar, Varanasi, and Lucknow. Recent additions like flights to Kolkata, Goa, and Bengaluru have seen an 80–90% load factor. Direct connectivity to Sahibabad RRTS station in June 2025 will enhance accessibility. With growing demand, the expansion is vital for meeting regional travel needs.
