India and Slovenia have moved a long way in their bilateral ties with the 10th round of Foreign Office Consultations in New Delhi on May 6, 2025. The Indian side was headed by Tanmaya Lal, Secretary (West) in the Ministry of External Affairs, and the Slovenian side was headed by Marko Štucin, State Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs.

The consultations involved an in-depth examination of progress in various areas, reaffirming both countries' support for deepening their partnership. Of particular importance were trade and investment, technology and innovation, defence cooperation, space exploration, digitalisation, artificial intelligence, migration and mobility, agriculture, and intensified people-to-people and cultural exchanges.

Both countries also exchanged views on regional and international developments, highlighting the importance of cooperation to meet the challenges of the modern world. A special highlight was the commitment to jointly celebrate the 35th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2027, which demonstrates the strength and endurance of the India-Slovenia relationship.

Aside from the formal talks, Marko Štucin also made a courtesy call on India's External Affairs Minister, Dr. S. Jaishankar, and reiterated the high priority both nations accord to their increasing bilateral and multilateral ties.
