India's courageous performance was not enough to seal victory against the Netherlands, and the Indian men's hockey team lost by one goal 2-3 in the FIH Hockey Pro League 2024/25 at the Wagener Hockey Stadium in Amstelveen. India was unable to resist the Dutch attack in the last few minutes of play despite a good beginning.

Forward Abhishek, playing in his 100th international match, gave India the lead in the 20th minute with a good finish.

The Netherlands moved to quick action, and Thijs van Dam levelled the score in the 24th minute following a masterful build-up by captain Thierry Brinkman.

Shift in Momentum during the Second Half

The Netherlands launched the attack during the third quarter, breaking the rhythm of India's midfield.

Tjep Hoedemakers capitalized on a well-timed cross in the 33rd minute, beating goalkeeper Krishan Bahadur Pathak to double the Netherlands lead to 2-1.

India fought back, having many penalty corners but failing to score until Jugraj Singh leveled the scores at 2-2 in the 54th minute.

Final Blow and Match Conclusion

The Netherlands was awarded a crucial penalty corner in the 57th minute, and Jip Janssen sealed the victory.

India launched a late onslaught but could not penetrate the Dutch defence, winning the 2-3 match.
