Bollywood veteran Jeetendra, who has spent decades in the show business world on screen, is penning a new page—of a builder. After the record Rs 855 crore sale of a plot of land in Andheri, Mumbai, the 83-year-old spoke about his unusual foray into real estate and the emotional paradox between show business and building.

Spotlight Insights

Jeetendra sold two adjacent parcels of land in Andheri for 2.39 acres and housing Balaji IT Park to family businesses Pantheon Buildcon and Tusshar Infra Developers.

The asset has been acquired by NTT Global Data Centres to expand its digital infrastructure footprint in India.

The deal, which was finalized in May 2025, is one of the largest real estate transactions in Bollywood ranks this year.

Builder's Blueprint

Jeetendra admitted he does not adopt the conventional builder model of pre-selling developments. He builds first and then sells—something he is the first to admit will look daft to conventional businessmen.

He underlined that although the film business runs on emotion and trust, the real estate business requires sharpness as well as strategy.

Watching the business, he remarked that most contractors are calculating and shrewd, as opposed to the movie fraternity he collaborated with for 50 years, who were emotionally driven.

Emotional Undercurrents

Jeetendra admitted to having felt out of place in the property market, describing it as a place where shrewdness is likely to override empathy.

He attributes success in construction to providing integrity and quality, not shortcuts or empty promises.

His approach is founded on integrity—building trust by building first.

Kapoor Family Moves

Days following the sale of the land transaction, Jeetendra and daughter Ektaa Kapoor also disposed of a Worli, Mumbai luxury flat for Rs 12.25 crore.

The family keeps supplementing the portfolio with a mix of entertainment legacy and real estate expertise.
